This on-line Java applet will calculate the time of sunrise and sunset for any location on earth and for any date. Accuracy is within two minutes (usually within one minute) of the U.S. Naval Observatory's on-line calculator.

The calculational engine for this applet is derived from the BASIC program SUNUP.BAS (available here) or from Sky and Telescope) by Sinnott (1994).
