Mark is an experienced researcher, consultant, and teacher whose interests lie in applied statistical work, particularly in collaborative multi-disciplinary work. His experience and interests include: simulation, spatio-temporal modeling; Bayesian methods; decision analysis; image processing; visualization; massive data sets; statistical computing; statistical physics. Mark’s research interests and experiences have evolved from needs encountered in multidisciplinary efforts, as a graduate student and a professional statistician. His primary interests are in statistical computing (Monte Carlo simulation) and in methods for exploring and evaluating massive or messy data sets. Mark has 18 publications in a wide range of fields, including atmospheric science, medicine, physics, and statistics. Mark served as associate editor for Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics for 8 years.
